And yet another 3D-related news item. This time, it's NEC (or NEC Display Technologies, to be more exact), which today announced [JP] a new 3D-enabled DLP projector. The announcement comes not even one week after the company priced and spec'd their 3D-powered desktop PC.

The NP216J-3D also follows a 3D-ready projector Sanyo unveiled two weeks ago. NEC's model features 1,024×768 resolution, produces 2,500 lumens brightness, and comes with a contrast ratio of 2,000:1. It has a 180W lamp and an internal 7W mono speaker.

NEC says the data projector supports NVIDIA 3D Vision, but it can't be used to watch 3D Blu-rays.

The company plans to start selling the NP216J-3D in Japan on July 20 (price including a pair of glassed: $1,100). Plans for an international roll-out haven't been announced yet.
